The aim of the Asian Political-Security Community (APSC) is to assure that all of the countries in the region live peacefully with one another and the rest of the world in a fair, democratic and harmonious environment.

The community members vow to resort to peaceful measures in solving intraregional differences and consider their security connected to one another and tied by geographic location, common vision and objectives. It consists of the following components: political development; shaping and sharing of norms; conflict prevention; conflict resolution; post-conflict peace building; and implementing mechanisms.
