The Centre for ASEAN Regionalism Universiti Malaya has four primary functions, or foci:

1. National Resource on ASEAN Regionalism
2. Research think-tank
3. Centre for ASEAN Network and ASEAN-led networks
4. Promote “One Vision, One Identity, One Community”
